Wedding Fees
In 2016, the total cost will be:
  • the fee set by law payable to the church: £415

  • your marriage certificate: £4

  • having your banns read at the home church: £27 – you won’t need this if you’re marrying in your home church

  • your banns certificate from your home church: £13 – not required if you’re marrying in your home church

  • having your banns read at the church where you will marry: £27

  • The support of a verger, who sets up the altar and ensures the church is warm, clean and tidy for your wedding and can help with handing out Orders of Service and hymn books etc. They can assist with disability access if needed by your guests and guide people to find their seats or toilets: £30

Optional extras

The wedding fee doesn’t include extras you may choose or decline, such as:
  • Heating in the church from October to April. Fee £30

  • Having an organist (without DVD). Fee £50

  • Having an organist (with DVD). Fee £90

  • Having a DVD. Fee £55

  • Having bell-ringers. Fee £170
These extra staff will all need to be booked in advance.

You do not have to have any of these extras, but many couples are keen to have at least some. If you choose them, they will cost extra.
